Terms of Service

These Terms explain the rules, rights, and responsibilities that apply when you access or use the Viona mobile app, website, subscriptions, support channels, and related services in India.

1. Who we are and how these Terms apply

Viona is a dating app designed around intentional discovery, one active match at a time, and optional conversation-first experiences such as Blind Date. In these Terms, "Viona", "we", "us", and "our" mean Lavish Gambhir, operating Viona as an individual founder until a Viona company is incorporated. "You" means the person who creates an account, visits our website, buys a subscription, contacts support, or otherwise uses Viona.

By creating an account, accessing Viona, tapping to accept these Terms, or continuing to use the service after these Terms are made available, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Viona.

These Terms are written for Viona's India release. If Viona becomes available in other countries, additional local terms or disclosures may apply.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect personal data. The Privacy Policy is part of the overall Viona service rules, but it does not replace these Terms.

2. Eligibility and adult-only use

Viona is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to agree to these Terms to create an account or use the service.

You may not use Viona if you are barred from using the service under applicable law, if we previously removed or banned your account for safety or policy reasons, or if you are using Viona on behalf of someone else without authorization.

If we believe an account belongs to a minor or is being used to contact, exploit, impersonate, or endanger a minor, we may restrict or remove the account, preserve records needed for safety or legal reasons, and report the matter to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.

3. Your account and profile

You are responsible for the information you provide to Viona and for activity on your account. You agree to provide accurate account, profile, age, identity, location, preference, and subscription information and to keep it reasonably up to date.

  • Do not share one-time passwords, session tokens, or account access with anyone.
  • Do not create accounts using false information, another person's phone number, or another person's identity.
  • Do not create multiple accounts to avoid limits, moderation decisions, reports, blocks, bans, or subscription restrictions.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

We may require verification or additional review before allowing access to certain features, restoring an account, investigating a support request, or acting on a privacy, deletion, payment, moderation, or safety request.

4. The Viona service

Viona provides social discovery and dating features, including profiles, preferences, likes, matches, chat, one-active-match functionality, Blind Date, verification, safety tools, and paid subscription features. Features may vary by platform, app version, account status, location, configuration, and rollout stage.

Viona does not guarantee that you will receive recommendations, likes, matches, chats, dates, relationships, successful verification, or uninterrupted access to any feature. Matching and recommendation systems depend on available users, preferences, distance, safety signals, account status, activity, feature flags, and other operational factors.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or remove features where needed to operate, improve, secure, moderate, test, or legally administer Viona. We may also impose limits on swipes, likes, messages, uploads, sessions, invites, subscriptions, devices, or other activity to protect the service and user experience.

5. Dating context and offline interactions

Viona helps adults discover and communicate with other adults. We do not control what users say, do, share, or represent outside the app. You are responsible for your decisions, communications, meetings, and interactions with other users, both online and offline.

Use caution before sharing personal information, financial information, private media, precise location, travel plans, workplace details, or family details with another user. If you choose to meet someone, consider meeting in a public place, telling someone you trust, arranging your own transportation, and leaving if you feel unsafe.

Report behavior that appears abusive, fake, exploitative, unsafe, illegal, or otherwise inconsistent with these Terms. Reports and blocks help us enforce safety standards, but they do not guarantee a particular outcome.

6. Your content and license to Viona

You are responsible for content you upload, create, send, display, report, or otherwise provide through Viona, including profile photos, bios, prompts, interests, verification submissions, chat messages, reports, support messages, and attachments.

You keep ownership of content that belongs to you. By providing content to Viona, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, display, transmit, adapt, moderate, remove, analyze, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate, secure, improve, support, and legally administer Viona.

This license includes use for profile display, discovery, matching, chat, verification, content moderation, safety investigations, support, reporting, backups, audit records, app-store compliance, legal compliance, and service improvement. The license ends when your content is deleted from active systems, except where continued retention or processing is needed for safety, legal, backup, audit, dispute, fraud-prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.

Do not upload or send content unless you have the rights and permissions needed to do so. You must not upload another person's private media, identity documents, photos, messages, or personal data without permission.

7. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to misuse Viona or help anyone else misuse Viona. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Creating fake, misleading, impersonation, underage, automated, or unauthorized accounts.
  • Harassing, threatening, stalking, doxxing, blackmailing, exploiting, discriminating against, or intimidating another person.
  • Requesting, sharing, threatening to share, or distributing non-consensual intimate content, sexual content involving minors, exploitative content, or illegal content.
  • Using Viona for scams, spam, commercial solicitation, paid dating, prostitution, trafficking, financial fraud, phishing, investment schemes, or attempts to obtain money or credentials.
  • Uploading content that is hateful, violent, sexually exploitative, defamatory, deceptive, infringing, illegal, unsafe, or designed to evade moderation.
  • Uploading morphed, synthetic, deepfake, misleading-origin, or impersonation content, including content that falsely appears to show another person or another person's consent.
  • Posting or sharing content that threatens public order, national security, public safety, or another legally protected interest under applicable Indian law.
  • Uploading content that belongs to another person or includes another person's private information, photos, identity, messages, or media without the rights and permissions needed to do so.
  • Scraping, crawling, copying, indexing, reverse engineering, probing, attacking, overloading, bypassing, or interfering with Viona, its APIs, its security systems, or its rate limits.
  • Using bots, scripts, emulators, automation, account farms, fake devices, manipulated location data, or unauthorized third-party tools.
  • Circumventing blocks, reports, bans, subscriptions, feature limits, match limits, verification checks, app-store rules, or moderation decisions.
  • Submitting false reports or abusing support, appeals, payment, refund, chargeback, or account-recovery processes.

8. Safety, verification, and moderation

Viona may use automated systems, third-party providers, and authorized reviewers to support verification, image moderation, abuse detection, fraud prevention, report review, block enforcement, subscription integrity, and account safety.

We may review, restrict, label, hide, reject, remove, or preserve content and accounts when we believe it is necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, prevent abuse, comply with law, investigate reports, protect Viona, or respond to app-store, payment, infrastructure, or legal requirements.

We may suspend or terminate accounts, limit profile visibility, revoke verification, remove photos, cancel pending interactions, end sessions, block chat access, restrict subscriptions, prevent new accounts, or take other action where we believe there is a safety, integrity, legal, payment, or policy concern.

Automated systems and human reviewers can make mistakes. If you believe a moderation, verification, report, block, subscription, or account decision is incorrect, contact support with enough context for us to review the issue. We may not be able to disclose all safety signals, investigation details, or user reports.

You can report unsafe, abusive, impersonation, intimate-image, child-safety, illegal, or policy-violating content in the app where available or by emailing support@viona.one. We aim to acknowledge user complaints and review them within a reasonable time under applicable law, with priority handling for child-safety concerns, non-consensual intimate media, impersonation, morphed media, credible threats, and other urgent safety issues.

9. Subscriptions, purchases, and app stores

Viona may offer weekly and monthly paid subscriptions or other paid features. For iOS and Android in-app digital subscriptions, purchases are made through Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing unless an approved platform billing exception applies. RevenueCat or another authorized service provider may help us process subscription status and entitlements.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled according to the rules and timing shown by Apple, Google, or the applicable billing provider. You are responsible for managing or cancelling subscriptions through the app-store account or billing system used for purchase.

App-store purchases, refunds, chargebacks, billing disputes, payment methods, family sharing, regional pricing, taxes, and subscription management may be governed by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, payment processors, or other third-party terms. We may provide support, but we do not control all billing decisions made by app stores or payment providers.

Paid features may depend on your account remaining active, eligible, compliant with these Terms, and correctly synced with the relevant store or billing provider. If a payment fails, a subscription expires, an entitlement cannot be verified, or an account is restricted for safety or policy reasons, paid features may be limited or unavailable.

10. Account deletion and subscription cancellation

You may request account deletion through the app's account-deletion control, or by following the instructions on our Account Deletion page if you cannot access the app. Account deletion may deactivate your account, remove your profile from active use, revoke sessions, and delete profile images from active media storage except where limited retention is needed for safety, legal, backup, audit, dispute, fraud-prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.

Deleting your Viona account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. If you have an active weekly or monthly subscription, you must cancel renewal through the App Store or Google Play account used for purchase.

Some records may remain for limited periods where needed for safety, legal compliance, disputes, audits, fraud prevention, backups, subscription support, or protection of other users.

11. Child safety standards

Viona is for adults only and prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation, underage accounts, grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, trafficking, CSAM, attempts to obtain or share sexual content involving minors, and attempts to evade child-safety detection or enforcement.

Our public child-safety standards are available at Child Safety Standards. If you believe a minor is using Viona or that child-safety content or conduct appears on the service, report it in the app where available or email support@viona.one immediately.

12. Third-party services and platform terms

Viona may rely on third-party services for app distribution, subscriptions, payments, phone verification, push notifications, cloud hosting, media storage, image moderation, maps or location features, analytics, support, security, and other operational needs.

Your use of Apple App Store, Google Play, device operating systems, payment providers, carrier services, and other third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Those terms apply in addition to these Terms where relevant.

If you download Viona from Apple App Store and we do not provide a separate custom license in App Store Connect, Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement may apply to the extent required by Apple. These Terms still govern your relationship with Viona for the Viona service, account, content, safety, moderation, subscriptions, and support.

13. Viona intellectual property

Viona, including our app, website, design, text, graphics, logos, icons, software, source code, APIs, algorithms, features, service names, trademarks, and other materials, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

We give you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Viona for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, or create derivative works from Viona except where allowed by law or expressly permitted by us in writing.

14. Availability, changes, and beta features

Viona may be unavailable, delayed, interrupted, limited, or changed because of maintenance, infrastructure issues, app-store review, third-party services, moderation, security incidents, legal requirements, testing, configuration changes, or events outside our reasonable control.

Some features may be experimental, invite-only, region-limited, subscription-limited, or rolled out gradually. We may change or discontinue beta, test, or early-access features without offering compensation, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Viona at any time. Account deletion is described above and on our Account Deletion page.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to Viona if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for another person, used the service unlawfully, abused the platform, interfered with the service, caused payment or subscription integrity issues, or created legal, safety, or operational risk for Viona.

After suspension, deletion, or termination, provisions that by their nature should continue will continue, including provisions about content licenses, moderation records, payments, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and legal compliance.

16. Disclaimers

Viona is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every possible threat, compatible with every device, or successful in producing matches, dates, relationships, verification, subscription access, or any particular outcome.

We do not verify every statement made by users and do not endorse any user, profile, message, photo, opinion, or offline conduct. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you use Viona and interact with other users at your own discretion and risk.

17. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection rights.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Viona will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, loss of data, service interruption, device issues, third-party conduct, user conduct, or offline interactions arising from or related to your use of Viona.

Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total liability for claims relating to Viona will be limited to the amount you paid to Viona for the service giving rise to the claim during the three months before the event giving rise to liability, or INR 1,000, whichever is greater, unless applicable law requires a different amount.

18. Your responsibility for claims

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of Viona, your content, your violation of these Terms, your violation of law, your infringement of another person's rights, or your interactions with other users.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to mandatory law, courts of competent jurisdiction in New Delhi, India will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or Viona.

Before starting a formal legal claim, you agree to contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue informally, unless the matter is urgent, involves safety, requires immediate legal relief, or applicable law allows otherwise.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method. The "Last updated" date shows when these Terms were last revised.

Your continued use of Viona after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Viona.

Please include the phone number associated with your account, a clear description of your request, and any details needed to verify and process it. Do not send OTPs, passwords, full payment details, private photos, or highly sensitive information by email unless we specifically ask for it through a secure channel.
